Mitsubishi Pajero set for global debut on September 2

Mitsubishi Motors has confirmed the global debut of the fifth-generation Pajero SUV, scheduled for September 2, 2026. Marking a significant return for the iconic model, the new Pajero will transition from a unibody to a rugged ladder-frame chassis, likely derived from the Triton pickup platform.

Key technical features expected include the Super All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system to enhance off-road capability and stability. While official powertrain details remain unconfirmed, industry reports suggest the inclusion of diesel-hybrid options to balance performance with fuel efficiency. The vehicle is expected to compete with premium off-roaders such as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

In a broader strategic move, Mitsubishi has unveiled its 'Momentum 2030' plan. This strategy aims to expand the brand's lineup from four to six models by 2027, focusing on electrification and adventure-oriented vehicles.
