Mitsubishi Motors launches new Pajero SUV in Thailand

Mitsubishi Motors has officially launched the new generation of its flagship Pajero cross-country SUV in Thailand. Produced at the Laem Chabang plant, the vehicle serves as a key model for the company’s global production and export strategy.

In Thailand, the new Pajero is available in several variants, including the GLS, GSR, and Super Exceed. The vehicle features a 2.4L turbo diesel engine producing 204 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is built on a ladder-frame chassis shared with the Triton pickup.

The launch has seen significant market interest. In Japan, early orders exceeded the company's entire sales target for the 2026 fiscal year within just two weeks. In Australia, the model has recorded over 11,000 expressions of interest. Following the initial rollout in Thailand, Japan, and Australia, Mitsubishi plans to expand sales to approximately 100 countries and regions, including the Middle East and Latin America, starting in fiscal year 2027.
