Mitsubishi unveils fifth-generation Pajero SUV
Mitsubishi Motors has unveiled the fifth-generation Pajero, a large off-road SUV returning after a five-year hiatus. The new model features a body-on-frame construction and will be available with a 2.4-litre single-turbo diesel engine, as well as hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.
In Australia, the entry-level GLS five-seater is expected to start at $68,490, with local deliveries scheduled to begin in December 2026. The vehicle is designed to compete with models such as the GWM Tank 500 PHEV.
To support its electrified vehicle strategy, Mitsubishi Motors plans to invest 16 billion baht (approximately A$680 million) by 2030 to transform its Laem Chabang facility in Thailand into a manufacturing hub for exports, which is expected to include the Pajero and the Triton.
