Mitsubishi Motors revives iconic Pajero SUV for 2026 debut

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announced that the legendary Pajero (also known as Montero) will return after a seven‑year hiatus, with a world premiere scheduled for 4 August 2026. The automaker revealed that the new model will be built on a robust ladder‑frame chassis and equipped with its Super‑All Wheel Control (S‑AWC) system, promising strong off‑road capability while suppressing body movement for a comfortable on‑road ride.

Technical details released on the dedicated Pajero website highlight a suspension tuned for high road‑holding performance, digital reinterpretation of the classic multi‑information gauge, and T‑shaped LED headlights. The vehicle will be produced in Thailand and positioned as Mitsubishi’s flagship cross‑country SUV, aiming to strengthen the company’s standing in the competitive SUV segment.
