Mitsubishi Pajero slated for global launch on 2 September 2026

Mitsubishi is preparing to unveil the new Pajero SUV worldwide on 2 September 2026. The launch is expected to be simultaneous across several key markets, with the Japanese price projected at 5‑7 million yen (about 805 million‑1.1 billion VND).

The model will sit on a ladder‑frame chassis derived from the Mitsubishi Triton pickup and will be offered with a 2.4‑litre twin‑turbo diesel engine delivering roughly 201 hp and 470 Nm, coupled to an automatic transmission and Super Select 4WD‑II. Mitsubishi is also developing a plug‑in hybrid variant that could use technology from the Outlander PHEV.

Stylistically, the new Pajero features a square, robust design comparable in size to the Lexus GX and is positioned to compete with the Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol. Production is planned for Mitsubishi’s Thailand plant, which the company aims to turn into a global hub for electrified utility‑vehicle manufacturing and export.
