Mitsubishi Pajero Mini kei car sees revival and replica kits
Mitsubishi's iconic 1980s off‑road vehicle has a compact kei‑car version called the Pajero Mini, launched in Japan in 1994. The 3.3 m‑long model complied with kei‑car regulations, using a three‑cylinder engine limited to 52 hp and offering selectable four‑wheel drive with a reduction box.
Japanese customizer DAMD now offers a retrofit kit, branded “Deli”, that builds on the Mitsubishi Delica Mini chassis to recreate the classic Montero (Pajero) appearance. The kit adds body panels, front and rear bumpers, a new grille, 15‑inch wheels and optional accessories such as vinyl graphics and LED lights. Priced at about ¥383,900 (≈ €2,000) plus the base Delica Mini cost of ¥2,042,700, the fully equipped vehicle totals roughly €13,000.
