Mitsubishi to Relaunch Pajero I/O SUV in 2027; Toyo Unveils Updated Street Sweeper in 2026

Mitsubishi announced a full model change for its compact SUV Pajero I/O, planning a Japanese market launch in 2027. The new version shares its underpinnings with the Exforce concept, features a 1.6 L gasoline engine and a hybrid system derived from a plug‑in hybrid, four‑wheel drive, a 12.3‑inch infotainment display and a digital instrument panel. Prices are expected to start at ¥2.8 million for the gasoline variant and ¥3.1 million for the hybrid model.

Toyoda‑affiliated Toyo (in collaboration with Isuzu) introduced a full redesign of its street‑sweeper lineup, the HF95H (9‑ton) and HF85H (6‑ton) models, after roughly 20 years. Sales begin in July 2026 with list prices of ¥40 million and ¥35.7 million respectively. Improvements include a work‑monitor that shows brush status, a new control‑box design, larger fuel tanks (140 L), higher dump‑height, AI‑based rear‑person detection, AI surround‑view cameras and enhanced ICT maintenance functions.
