Mitsubishi to revive Pajero SUV under Momentum 2030 plan
Mitsubishi Motors is reviving its iconic Pajero (known as the Montero in certain markets) with an official presentation scheduled for September 2. The vehicle, which left international markets in 2021, is expected to feature a body-on-frame chassis and a specialized suspension system designed to enhance both road grip and off-road capability.
This revival is part of the company’s Momentum 2030 plan, a strategic roadmap aimed at strengthening the brand through electrification and a renewed product lineup. The plan focuses on key markets such as the United States and Japan, with goals for sustainable sales growth. Other developments under this strategy include a potential new pick-up truck developed in collaboration with Nissan and a new off-road alternative based on the Outlander, expected in early 2027. While the company is expanding its robust and versatile vehicle portfolio, current plans do not explicitly mention a return to the European market.
