Mitsubishi unveils ASX VR-e electric hatchback via Foxtron partnership
Mitsubishi has introduced the ASX VR-e, an electric hatchback developed through a partnership with the Taiwanese manufacturer Foxtron, a subsidiary of Foxconn. The vehicle is largely based on the Foxtron Bria model, sharing a nearly identical interior and chassis, with differences limited primarily to exterior branding, logos, and wheel designs.
The ASX VR-e is expected to offer two configurations. A rear-wheel-drive base model features 229 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. An all-wheel-drive variant delivers approximately 400 horsepower, achieving the same acceleration in 3.9 seconds. Based on NEDC measurements, the driving range is estimated to be between 467 and 515 kilometers depending on the specific version.
While availability in Europe or Brazil has not been confirmed, Mitsubishi has announced that the model will be sold in Australia and New Zealand.
