MIVHED completes sports infrastructure for Santo Domingo 2026

The Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (MIVHED) has completed the adaptation of sports facilities for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 2026. Under the leadership of former minister Víctor (Ito) Bisonó and the mandate of President Luis Abinader, the project aimed to deliver modern and safe infrastructure for the event, which hosted approximately 6,200 athletes from 37 countries.

The completed works include certified competition areas, grandstands, locker rooms, medical offices, administrative areas, and updated electrical, sanitary, and lighting systems. The facilities were designed to meet international standards for high-performance sports, ensuring accessibility and technological integration.
