Mivhed infrastructure projects in Dominican Republic

Overview

The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Housing, Habitat, and Buildings (Mivhed) has undertaken various infrastructure projects across the country.

In mid-August, the ministry began constructing community and religious facilities in the Santiago province, specifically targeting the Hato del Yaque and Baitoa municipalities. This included the groundbreaking of the Espíritu Santo Church in Hato del Yaque, a project valued at over RD$10 million intended to provide space for worship and social interaction.

By the end of August, Mivhed completed the adaptation of sports facilities in preparation for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, Santo Domingo 2026. These works included the modernization of competition areas, grandstands, and medical offices to meet international standards for the approximately 6,200 athletes participating in the event.
