Miyetti Allah seeks intervention for detained leader Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo

The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Sociocultural Association has appealed to President Bola Tinubu and other high-ranking officials to intervene in the continued detention of its national leader, Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo.

During a press conference in Nasarawa State, North Central Chairman Idris Gidado-Bebeji stated that Bodejo’s detention has caused significant concern among his family, supporters, and the wider pastoralist community. The association described Bodejo as a prominent advocate for national unity and the welfare of pastoralists.

The group alleged that Bodejo was initially arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) in Taraba State on the same day he declared his intention to run for the Taraba Central Senatorial District seat. He was reportedly transferred to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), where he remained in custody for nearly four months. Although he was released after reportedly meeting certain conditions, the association claims he was rearrested by DSS operatives on August 28, 2026.

While calling for his release, the association emphasized that they are not seeking to obstruct lawful investigations, but rather request that the matter be handled fairly and in strict accordance with the constitution.
