Miyu Yamashita donates 10 million yen to Hokuriku rain victims
Professional golfer Miyu Yamashita has announced a 10 million yen donation to support victims of the heavy rains that struck the Hokuriku region in August. The funds will be distributed through the Ishikawa Prefecture branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society and the Ishikawa Prefecture Community Chest.
Yamashita, whose parents are originally from Toyama and Ishikawa prefectures, expressed her desire to give back to the region. She noted that the support received from local fans during her recent victory at the Sony Ladies Japan Professional Championship in Ishikawa provided her with great strength. She stated, “I hope that a peaceful daily life will return as soon as possible, and I sincerely hope for the recovery and reconstruction of Ishikawa Prefecture.”
