Mizoram police and Assam Rifles seize heroin worth 6.51 crore rupees

A joint operation by the Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police led to the seizure of 868 grams of heroin number 4 in the Keiphang area of Saihaul district. The drugs are estimated to have an international market value of approximately 6.51 crore rupees.

Acting on intelligence, the joint team intercepted a truck on Wednesday morning. During a thorough search, officials discovered a modified and sealed toolbox containing a hidden compartment. Inside the compartment, 73 soap boxes were found to be concealing the heroin.

Two individuals were arrested at the scene and handed over to the Saihaul Police. Authorities have registered a case under the NDPS Act and are investigating the origin of the shipment and its intended destination to dismantle the broader trafficking network.
