In the Saitual district, police recovered 12.746 kg of methamphetamine tablets worth roughly Rs 10.20 crore from two residents of Rangoon, Myanmar. Other operations at the Khankawn Police Checkgate in Champhai district led to the seizure of 994 grams of methamphetamine and 141 grams of heroin.
In Kolasib district, authorities intercepted a vehicle traveling toward Assam, seizing 3.910 kg of methamphetamine tablets valued at Rs 3.2 crore. Additionally, police seized 3,360 kg of dry areca nuts, suspected to be smuggled from Myanmar, valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh. Officials noted that these seizures underscore the vulnerability of the Mizoram-Myanmar international border to cross-border drug trafficking.
