Málaga hosts DES 2026, Europe’s largest AI and digital tech summit

From June 9‑11 2026 the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga (FYCMA) became the hub of Europe’s digital transformation agenda with the tenth edition of the Digital Enterprise Show (DES 2026). More than 15,000 senior executives, 403 exhibitor firms and 637 speakers from over 40 countries gathered to showcase 706 innovations covering artificial intelligence, generative AI, cloud computing, quantum computing, cybersecurity, and automation. The programme featured dedicated tracks on AI ethics, “Zero‑Trust” security, AI for Good, and a new defence‑technology forum involving German aerospace firm DLR, the Spanish Guardia Civil and police.

The event is projected to generate an economic impact exceeding €30 million for the city, with hotel occupancy hitting roughly 98 % during the week. Regional officials highlighted Andalusia’s leadership in digital investment – €117 million in contracts during Q1 2026 and a public‑sector digital spend of €2.6 billion for the year – and noted that the digital economy now accounts for 17.2 % of the region’s GDP. China participated as an invited country, contributing perspectives from its leading AI firms. Organisers also launched the OdiseIA For Good foundation, which aims to promote responsible AI use, education, and solutions for vulnerable groups.
