Málaga inaugurates Garden of the Stars for perinatal loss grief

Parcemasa, the municipal cemetery company of Málaga, has inaugurated the ‘Garden of the Stars’ at the San Gabriel Cemetery. This new 1,500-square-meter green space is specifically designed to support families experiencing perinatal loss.

The project was developed in collaboration with the Official College of Nursing of Málaga to provide a dedicated location for emotional and physical healing, allowing families a place to deposit ashes. The garden features a central fountain designed in the shape of the Ursa Major constellation, with seven designated areas corresponding to the stars where urns can be placed under a concession system.

In addition to the new space, Parcemasa provides psychological support through its Psychology Cabinet, which offers free specialized grief counseling, including individual and group therapy, at the funeral home.
