MMA fighter Kim Jung-woo booked for assault after live stream incident

Mixed martial arts fighter Kim Jung-woo has been booked by police on assault charges following an incident during a live broadcast where he caused a civilian to lose consciousness. During the stream, Kim applied a guillotine choke to a man in his 20s. Despite the victim signaling surrender, Kim continued the hold until the man lost consciousness and struck his head on the floor.

Following the incident, Kim and other participants were seen laughing and making light of the victim's condition. The YouTuber who organized the broadcast apologized, claiming they believed the victim was merely acting to create dramatic tension for the stream and did not realize he had actually fainted until later.

ZFN, the MMA organization founded by Jung Chan-sung, has officially terminated Kim's contract, citing a violation of the dignity maintenance clause. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the assault and whether other participants were complicit in the incident.
