Münster and Buchholz Family Bike Tours Set for 2026

The municipality of Münster and the Westphalian Initiative for Sport and Leisure will host the "Familien GIRO" family cycling tour on 27 September 2026. The 20‑km guided ride starts at 09:30 at Stubengassenplatz, with police and local volunteers accompanying participants of all ages. The event aims to promote traffic safety and community interaction, ending around 12:30 at the DJK Grün‑Weiß Amelsbüren grounds, where a program for families will follow.

On 28 June 2026, the Blau‑Weiß‑Buchholz cycling department will run its 34th Heidetour, offering a 25‑km "Family & Friends" route for recreational riders, families and youth. The tour begins at 09:00 from the Sportzentrum Holzweg 6 and returns via low‑traffic roads and bike paths. After the ride, participants will be served coffee, cake and grilled sausages. Both events are free, require participants to bring a road‑worthy bicycle, and encourage helmet use for safety.
