Mobile health clinics provide free medical care in Senegal and Burkina Faso
Community health initiatives in Senegal and Burkina Faso have provided essential medical services to underserved populations through mobile clinics and organized consultation days.
In Thiamène Cayor, Senegal, the association ‘Thiamène Santé et Solidarité’ organized a day of free medical consultations on September 19, 2026. A total of 346 patients received care, including 185 general medicine consultations, 89 pediatric cases, 61 geriatric patients, and 11 gynecological consultations. The initiative, held in collaboration with the local health post, also included a donation of medicines. Common conditions identified included hypertension, gastric issues, anemia, and lumbar pain.
In Niangoloko, Burkina Faso, a mobile clinic from the Banfora Regional Hospital provided specialized services at the Sector 6 medical center on September 17, 2026. The multidisciplinary team focused on maternity and pediatric care, offering consultations and health awareness sessions for women and children. The mission aimed to bring specialized medical expertise to local populations who would otherwise require referral to larger regional hospitals.
