Mobile health units bring free mammograms and primary care to communities in São Paulo and Porto Alegre, Brazil

The São Paulo state government’s mobile mammography truck, part of the "Mulheres de Peito" programme, was rescheduled to serve Igaratá from 6 to 11 July after a temporary deployment to a special action in São Paulo city. The unit will provide free breast‑cancer screening exams to local women, continuing the programme’s effort to expand early detection in underserved municipalities.

In Porto Alegre, two municipal mobile health buses are visiting six neighborhoods between 29 June and 3 July. Services include prenatal consultations, rapid HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B/C testing, blood‑pressure and glucose checks, vaccinations, cervical‑cancer screening, pregnancy tests, wound care and referral for specialty appointments, as well as distribution of medicines and simple prescriptions.
