Mobile Money Fintech LTD CEO advocates for focus on financial well-being in Ghana

Shaibu Haruna, CEO of Mobile Money Fintech LTD (MMFL), has called for Ghana’s digital finance sector to transition from providing basic financial access to prioritizing the long-term financial health and well-being of its users. Speaking at the inaugural Ecobank-Joy Business Financial Dialogue Series in Accra, Haruna noted that while mobile money has successfully integrated millions of unbanked Ghanaians into the formal financial ecosystem, the next phase of growth must offer practical tools for saving, investing, and planning for the future.

MMFL, a subsidiary of MTN Ghana, is evolving into a holistic financial services platform to serve its 17 million active customers. To expand its service offerings, the company has entered strategic partnerships with IC Wealth, Misika, Coronation, and Flexi Pension. These collaborations aim to provide customers with a broader range of products, including credit, investment, and pension solutions.
