Model An Tay testifies in major drug trafficking trial

During the first-instance trial of 227 defendants in the VN10 case at the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court, Spanish model and actress Andrea Aybar Carmona, known as An Tay, testified regarding her drug use.

An Tay admitted to using methamphetamine continuously from 2020 until her arrest on November 21, 2024. She identified Nguyen Phuoc Bao Loc as her supplier, noting that she purchased drugs for between 500,000 and 1,000,000 VND per session. Payments were processed through her assistant, Van Anh Duy, who then transferred the funds to the seller. The drugs were delivered via technology-based delivery applications or collected by Duy in person.

Testimony detailed an incident on November 8, 2024, where An Tay requested Duy to purchase 1,000,000 VND worth of drugs using funds from an advertising payment. The two reportedly used the substances together at her apartment. An Tay faces two criminal charges in connection with the investigation, which stems from the discovery of over 11.3kg of narcotics in the luggage of four flight attendants in March 2023.
