Colombian model Natalia Villalba found dead inside suitcase in Bogotá

Natalia Villalba Angarita, a 36‑year‑old Colombian model and influencer, was discovered dead inside a grey suitcase in the shower of a short‑term rental apartment in the upscale Chicó Norte/El Virrey area of Bogotá on 22 June. The body was found by a cleaning employee after no one answered the door. Investigators say the suitcase was partially open and water had entered, potentially compromising forensic evidence.

The police have traced at least 15 entries to the apartment during Villalba’s stay from 3 June to the planned checkout on 21 June. Among the visitors were a U.S. citizen from Texas who was recorded in the building between 3 June and 7 June, and a British citizen who entered on 17 June, was seen moving linens to the laundry area, and left the country the following day. Both men are persons of interest and may face an Interpol notice. Two passports with differing name details were also recovered, prompting a review of Villalba’s recent trips to Rio de Janeiro and Madrid. No one has been formally charged yet, but two men remain under investigation. The case has sparked national outrage and ongoing forensic, biological and video‑analysis efforts.
