Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 returns to Nintendo Switch 2

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will launch on October 23, 2026, marking the franchise's return to Nintendo platforms after more than a decade. The game is being developed by Infinity Ward with assistance from Digital Legends for the Nintendo Switch 2 version.

An Open Beta is scheduled to run from August 28 to September 1, 2026. This testing phase will include multiplayer modes, the Warzone Resurgence mode on the new Zodiac map, and a playable campaign mission titled “Entrenched.” The Switch 2 version will feature specific hardware support, including Joy-Con 2 mouse controls, gyroscope aiming, HDR, and handheld mode.

Digital pre-orders for the Standard and Vault Editions are now available on the Nintendo eShop. The Vault Edition includes various cosmetic items such as the Hostile Alliance and Special Forces Operator Packs. The game will also support cross-play and cross-progression across all supported platforms.
