India's PM Narendra Modi to visit Seychelles for Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Seychelles from June 27‑29, 2026 on a state visit at the invitation of President Patrick Herminie. He will serve as Guest of Honour at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Seychelles' National Day, address the National Assembly and meet the Indian diaspora.

The agenda includes high‑level talks on the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation, regional security and international issues. India will reaffirm its Vision MAHASAGAR, emphasizing maritime security, defence, capacity‑building and the blue economy. The two sides plan to sign agreements covering artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, marine science, digital public infrastructure and other sectors.

India will announce a special economic package worth USD 175 million – a USD 125 million rupee‑denominated line of credit and a USD 50 million grant – for development projects, capacity building and maritime security. Indian Navy vessels and armed forces will take part in the commemorative events. The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce expects the visit to boost trade, investment and cooperation in aquaculture, renewable energy, tourism, pharmaceuticals and digitalisation.
