Moeve and Exolum secure €105 million financing for Huelva port terminal

Moeve and Exolum, through their joint venture Terminal Puerto Tartessos, have closed a €105 million project‑finance package to develop the Muelle Sur terminal at the Port of Huelva in southern Spain. BBVA acted as sole bookrunner, sole underwriter, MLA and hedge coordinator, while Kutxabank served as lead arranger. The financing will fund the construction of a 511‑metre berth and modern logistics facilities that will serve Moeve’s La Rábida Energy Park and Exolum’s assets, including the region’s largest second‑generation biofuels plant.

Carmen de Pablo, CFO and Director of Strategy, Sustainability and M&A at Moeve, said the terminal is “an essential asset to drive the energy transition and strengthen Europe’s autonomy.” Exolum CFO David Folgado added that the new infrastructure will improve operational efficiency, safety and flexibility for handling renewable fuels and sustainable feedstocks, supporting Europe’s low‑carbon energy goals.
