Moeve and Exolum secure €105 million financing for Huelva’s strategic Muelle Sur port project
Moeve and Exolum, through their joint venture Terminal Puerto Tartessos, closed a €105 million project‑finance agreement with BBVA and Kutxabank to fund the Muelle Sur expansion at the Port of Huelva, Spain.
The loan, structured with BBVA acting as sole bookrunner, sole underwriter, MLA and hedge coordinator and Kutxabank as lead arranger, was legally advised by Garrigues and Gómez‑Acebo & Pombo. The 511‑metre quay will modernise the La Rábida energy park and Exolum terminals, enabling efficient handling of sustainable feedstocks and renewable fuels for the new second‑generation biobfuel plant, and strengthening EU energy autonomy.
Construction has already passed the halfway point, and company executives said the financing demonstrates strong market interest in critical infrastructure for Europe’s energy transition.
