Mogadishu and Djibouti City sign cooperation agreement amid security talks
Mogadishu and Djibouti City have signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen bilateral cooperation. The agreement, signed by Benadir Regional Administration Governor Hassan Mohamed Hussein Muungaab and Djibouti City Mayor Said Daoud Mohamed, establishes a framework for enhanced ties in trade, investment, culture, and economic development.
In a separate security development, Somali immigration authorities met with officials from the African Union’s Counter-Terrorism Centre in Mogadishu. The discussions focused on strengthening coordination regarding border security, migration management, and counterterrorism. Key topics included information sharing and monitoring the movement of individuals suspected of terrorist activities crossing international borders. Somalia highlighted its use of modern digital systems to improve immigration data management and enhance the detection of potential security threats during ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab.
