Mohamed Ramadan announces Ashmawi series for Ramadan 2027

Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan has announced his return to the Ramadan drama season with the series ‘Ashmawi’, scheduled for release in 2027. The production will consist of 30 episodes.

Promoting the project, Ramadan shared a social media post jokingly advising cafes in Egypt and the Arab world to increase their seating capacity to accommodate viewers. He compared the length of his series to the number of matches played by the most successful Arab team in World Cup history.

The series, directed by Peter Mimi and written by Mohamed Ismail Amin, features Bassem Samra, Essad Younis, Yousra El Lozy, and Entisar. The plot follows the character Khalifa, an executioner within the prison service, whose professional life becomes entangled with complex family crises and social conflicts.

This marks Ramadan’s first major Ramadan television lead since ‘Gaafar El Omda’ in 2023.
