Egyptian Ramadan 2027 drama season preparations

Overview

Preparations for the Ramadan 2027 Egyptian television drama season have progressed with several actors and productions being announced.

Actress Yasmin Abdel Aziz is in final negotiations with producer Tamer Morsi for a potential return to television. She has emphasized that her participation depends strictly on script quality, noting she refuses to appear in projects simply to maintain an annual presence. Following her film ‘Khali Balak Men Nafsak’, she noted that the demands of cinema necessitated a period of rest. Regarding box office discussions, she expressed a preference for celebrating actual successes rather than social media figures.

Other announced projects include the social comedy ‘Ma Teegi Noshof’, starring Yasmine Raeis and Ahmed Fahmy. The series is being developed by the ‘Exi’ writing workshop under Fahmy’s supervision, directed by Hussein El Menbawi, and produced by Synergy. Additionally, Yara El Sokkary has shared details regarding her role as Lujain Khalifa in ‘Sultan El Deeb’, starring alongside Ahmed El Awady, describing the role as a significant challenge.

Mohamed Ramadan has announced his return to the Ramadan season with the 30-episode series ‘Ashmawi’, marking his first major lead since 2023. Written by Mohamed Ismail Amin and directed by Peter Mimi, the series features Ramadan as Khalifa, a prison authority executioner whose life is disrupted by family and social crises. The cast includes Bassem Samra, Essad Younis, Yousra El Lozy, and Entissar.

Other confirmed projects include ‘Halima Jabran’, starring Mai Omar and featuring Yousra El Lozi, and the social thriller ‘Wanas’, starring Ahmed Dawood and Tunisian actress Aisha Bin Ahmed.
