Mohammad Rizwan challenges NCCIA summons in Lahore High Court
Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq are under investigation by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) following allegations of dressing-room leaks. The probe involves a forensic examination of the players' mobile phones, including messages and digital information, as well as an inquiry into their financial transactions and travel history.
Mohammad Rizwan has filed a writ petition in the Lahore High Court challenging the NCCIA's summons and questioning the agency's jurisdiction. He has also requested clarification regarding the reasons for his questioning and why his mobile phone has not yet been returned. While Imam-ul-Haq reportedly submitted his responses through an intermediary, the investigation continues at the NCCIA headquarters in Islamabad.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is conducting a separate internal disciplinary inquiry regarding conduct and discipline. The PCB has handed over the players' devices for forensic analysis, and the board will determine its next course of action once the NCCIA submits its findings.
