Mohammed Houar resigns from RNI to join PAM

Mohammed Houar, a Member of Parliament for the Oujda-Angad constituency and a member of the National Council of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), has officially resigned from the party. His resignation, dated September 2, 2026, includes all central, local, and parallel organizational bodies.

Houar, a businessman and former president of the Mouloudia Oujda football club, is expected to join the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) ahead of the legislative elections scheduled for September 23, 2026. This move follows internal shifts within the RNI, where the party had designated Mohammed Al-Qaidi as the candidate for the Oujda-Angad constituency and appointed him as the regional coordinator, replacing Houar.

The defection occurs as the PAM, influenced by political figures such as Fouzi Lekjaa, seeks to strengthen its electoral presence in the Oriental region of Morocco by attracting prominent local political figures.
