Mohd Shuhaily case: AGC to determine further action
The Public Service Department (JPA) is awaiting a decision from the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) regarding an incident involving Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, the Director-General of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS).
The matter stems from a viral video at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, which appeared to show Mohd Shuhaily reprimanding individuals, including one instance where a person's ear was reportedly pulled. Following a police investigation conducted by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department under Section 323 of the Penal Code—concerning the offence of voluntarily causing hurt—the findings have been submitted to the AGC.
JPA Director-General Tan Sri Dr Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz stated that the department cannot comment further until the Attorney-General determines whether there is a case for further legal action. Police reported that statements from 25 witnesses were recorded to assist in the investigation.
