Overview

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) initiated an investigation into Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, the Director-General of the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), following allegations of physical assault at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on September 28.

The investigation, conducted by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing bodily pain or infirmity, involved recording statements from 25 witnesses. Mohd Shuhaily previously claimed the incident arose when he was questioning a foreign national and an officer filmed the process without permission.

Following the probe, the investigation findings were submitted to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC). The Public Service Department (JPA) is currently awaiting a decision from the AGC to determine if further legal action will be taken.
