Mohsen Jalilvand warns of heightened risk of full‑scale Iran‑US war

After former US President Donald Trump announced that the "understanding" with Iran has ended, US forces remain in the region. Iranian foreign‑policy scholar Mohsen Jalilvand told Fararu that the end of the diplomatic tone reflects a deeper, paradigm‑based clash between Tehran and Washington.

Jalilvand said recent US military deployments and Iran’s stance in the Strait of Hormuz mean the likelihood of a full‑scale conflict has risen sharply. He described past talks as a temporary “time‑out” rather than a lasting solution, noting that the divergent goals of the United States, Israel and Iran make any durable agreement unlikely.
