Mohsin Naqvi inspects immigration at Lahore airport
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted a surprise visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to review the immigration process. During his inspection of the counters, he engaged with staff and interviewed passengers regarding wait times.
After passengers reported delays of approximately 30 minutes and requested improvements, Naqvi ordered all immigration counters to remain open to expedite the process and reduce congestion. He emphasized that while technology has streamlined immigration, authorities must ensure no passenger with complete travel documents is obstructed, while strictly targeting those using fraudulent documents.
During the visit, the Minister addressed a complaint from a passenger regarding an agent soliciting money. Naqvi immediately directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Case Director to take notice and ordered the arrest of the agent involved.
