Mohsin Naqvi orders staff removals and expands airport immigration services

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has conducted a series of inspections across various government facilities, leading to significant administrative actions and service upgrades.

During a visit to the Gujranwala Regional Passport Office, Naqvi discovered the facility had closed before scheduled hours and staff were absent. In response to this negligence, he ordered the immediate removal of the entire office staff. While in Gujranwala, he also visited a NADRA Mega Center, where he announced that passport services would soon be integrated into the center to improve citizen convenience.

In Lahore, Naqvi inspected Allama Iqbal International Airport, where the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has expanded immigration services. The number of immigration lines has increased from approximately eight to 20 to reduce passenger wait times. Additionally, Naqvi reviewed the FIA’s Zonal Office in Lahore, directing the agency to crack down on human smuggling and ‘hawala hindi’ mafias by targeting their entire operational chains.

To modernize border security and service delivery, Naqvi gave preliminary approval to replace outdated cameras at airport immigration counters with advanced technology and to utilize the Pak ID app for lodging complaints.
