Mojtaba Khamenei appears in new video amid health speculation

The Iranian news outlet Rokna has released a new video featuring Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. The short clip, which does not specify a date, shows him sitting at a desk reviewing documents and appearing to engage in conversation.

This footage follows previous state media releases of Khamenei teaching religious doctrine, though his recent absence from public view has fueled speculation regarding his health and physical condition. While Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, have maintained that his health is good and that security concerns dictate his limited public appearances, rumors have persisted following his absence from recent funeral services.

Despite his limited public visibility, Mojtaba Khamenei has exercised significant authority through recent military appointments. On August 10, he issued decrees appointing several high-ranking officials, including Ali Abdollahi as Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces and Ahmad Vahidi as Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Other key appointments include Ali Azmaei as IRGC Navy Commander and Hossein Taeb as commander of the Basij volunteer forces.
