Molbio Diagnostics secures Rs 281 cr from anchor investors ahead of IPO
Point‑of‑care diagnostics firm Molbio Diagnostics Ltd raised about Rs 281.5 crore from anchor investors, allocating 34.88 lakh equity shares to 33 investors at the top of the price band (Rs 807 per share). Major anchors include Goldman Sachs, BlackRock Global Funds, Mirae Asset, Nippon India Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential, Kotak, Tata Mutual Fund, WhiteOak Capital, Bajaj Life and HDFC Life, alongside Temasek and Motilal Oswal Private Equity.
The IPO, priced between Rs 768‑807, opens for public subscription on Aug 10 and closes on Aug 12. It comprises a fresh issue of up to Rs 200 crore and an offer‑for‑sale of up to 91.66 lakh shares by existing shareholders. Proceeds will fund a Rs 106 crore R&D centre and Truenat platform expansion, Rs 72 crore for plant and equipment at its Goa and Visakhapatnam units, with the remainder for general corporate purposes. At the upper price band, the post‑issue valuation is projected around Rs 9,300 crore. Molbio, founded in 2000, offers molecular testing for diseases such as tuberculosis, COVID‑19, HIV, HPV and hepatitis via its patented Truenat platform.
