Moldova: 500,000 lei returned, former ambassador denies criminal case

Igor Grosu, president of the Moldovan Parliament and PAS leader, announced that Anastasia Taburceanu, former spokesperson of the state company MoldATSA, has returned 500,000 lei of salary bonuses earned while in office. He quoted her saying, “Anastasia Taburceanu, la ziua de ieri, a restituit 500.000 de lei.”

Former Moldovan ambassador to India Ana Taban posted a video asserting that the Anti‑Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed for the third time that she is not listed in any criminal file and has no procedural status. She stated, “nu am niciun dosar penal și nu am niciun statut.” Taban rejects accusations by Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi that financial irregularities justified her recall, and she plans to continue legal actions against the ministry.
