Moldova and Romania police dismantle drug trafficking networks

In Chișinău, Moldovan anti‑drug officers, together with local police and prosecutors, dismantled a group that used a rented apartment as a depot for PVP (a synthetic drug). Two men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested after investigators seized 50 doses of the substance and about 300 g from a hidden stash. Evidence included phones, precision scales and packaging material, and the seized drugs were valued at over 200,000 lei. Both suspects were placed in pre‑trial detention for 30 days and face up to 15 years in prison.

In Cluj‑Napoca, Romanian organized‑crime police caught two men, aged 27 and 36, burying roughly 2.5 kg of the high‑risk synthetic drug 4‑CMC near the Florești 2 hydro‑dam. A raid also recovered about one kilogram of additional 4‑CMC and related evidence. The suspects were detained for 24 hours pending further investigation.
