Moldova Boosts Dual Education Funding, Covers Half of Companies' Training Costs

The Moldovan government approved a new support mechanism on 29 July that reimburses 50 % of expenses incurred by companies that provide practical training to students through dual education programmes. The compensation is fixed at a 50 % rate and the fund earmarked for the scheme has been raised to 25 million lei per year.

Education Minister Dan Perciun said the measure will give companies greater predictability and help expand the dual‑education model, which currently enrolls about 3 300 students in partnership with roughly 230 firms. The government targets 3 000 dual‑education placements annually, with 2 669 budgeted spots for the 2026‑2027 school year. Participation is rising, with over 300 companies ready to train students in more than 70 vocational programmes. Authorities note that graduates of dual programmes have an employment rate of around 60 %, compared with roughly 30 % for traditional vocational graduates.
