Moldovan authorities have reported a series of airspace violations involving four drones on Thursday, September 24. Preliminary investigations by the Police Inspectorate General indicate that the devices are of the Russian-used Gerbera type.

In the Florești district, a drone collided with a tree before exploding on the ground. This specific incident marks the first time a Gerbera-type drone equipped with an onboard camera has been detected in Moldova.

In the Briceni district, near the village of Cotiujeni, police recovered fragments of a drone bearing 'Geran-4' markings. The wreckage includes fiberglass body parts, electronic components, and a partially damaged turbojet engine. The explosion occurred approximately 10 meters above the ground following an impact with trees, causing damage to vegetation within a 25-meter radius.

President Maia Sandu and Parliamentary President Igor Grosu condemned the incursions, stating that the Russian war continues to pose a threat to European security. Authorities are conducting forensic examinations to confirm the exact technical characteristics and manufacturer of the drones.
