Moldova expands financial incentives for young educators
The Government of the Republic of Moldova has approved an expansion of its financial support mechanism for young specialists. Previously limited to general education, the program now includes technical professional and higher education institutions.
In technical professional education, allowances will range from 160,000 to 375,000 lei, depending on the level of study, discipline, and location. The highest amounts are reserved for those teaching STEAM disciplines—biology, chemistry, physics, informatics, and mathematics—in institutions located outside of Chișinău. For higher education, a one-time allowance of 200,000 lei will be provided.
Payments will be distributed in two installments: 50% after six months of active work and the remaining 50% after 18 months. To qualify, applicants must be recent graduates under the age of 35 holding technical, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees, including those obtained abroad.
Beneficiaries must commit to working in their assigned position and institution for at least five years under an indefinite employment contract. Those from non-pedagogical programs employed in technical professional education must complete a 60-credit psycho-pedagogical module within two years of employment.
