Moldova extends Transnistria gas supply to 2026 and tests crisis scenarios

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) on 9 June extended Moldovagaz's designation as the entity responsible for supplying natural gas to Moldova's Transnistrian region through 31 December 2026. The extension aims to maintain uninterrupted supply, transport, balancing and flexibility services and to allow effective capacity planning and stock‑keeping for consumers in the region.

Moldovan authorities, energy operators and European partners also conducted a tabletop exercise in Chișinău to test response plans for a potential gas shortage. The drill simulated several crisis scenarios to assess coordination and readiness of the gas sector against major disruptions.
