Moldova human rights study identifies key areas of discrimination

According to the fifth edition of the Study on the Perception of Human Rights in the Republic of Moldova, citizens identify political life, healthcare institutions, and police interactions as the primary environments where discrimination occurs. Specifically, 25% of respondents cited political life, 22% cited healthcare institutions, and 18% cited interactions with the police as areas of discrimination.

In contrast, discrimination is perceived to be least frequent in relationships with banks, shops, public institutions, and within the family. While 61% of respondents believe that the right to equality and non-discrimination is respected to a large or very large extent, 69% reported witnessing at least one instance of discrimination in the ten measured social contexts over the past 12 months. Additionally, 42% of respondents reported experiencing such situations personally on a frequent or very frequent basis.
