The Moldovan government approved 2,600 tuition‑free spots in the dual‑education system for this year's gymnasium graduates. The number of funded places was set after consultations between the Ministry of Education and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reflecting requests from companies that will train the students on‑the‑job.

Students will spend about 30% of their time in vocational schools and 70% in the participating firms, receiving at least the legal minimum wage of 6,300 lei, a scholarship, accommodation, meals and transport costs. According to CCI president Sergiu Harea, “dual education is an alternative form of training… the young person is guided by an instructor and learns practical skills while being remunerated by the company.”

Currently 278 companies are authorised to host trainees, offering training for 28 occupations such as mechatronics, automotive and public catering. The chamber reports that 70‑80% of participants remain employed by the host firm after the programme. Admissions begin on 20 July.
