Moldova launches digital Farmers Register to centralize agricultural data

The Republic of Moldova has launched the Farmers Register, a digital information system designed to centralize data on farmers and agricultural holdings nationwide. Part of the Integrated Administration and Control System (SIAC), the registry will create a unique digital profile for each farm by interconnecting existing fiscal, cadastral, population, and livestock databases via the MConnect government platform.

Registration in the Farmers Register will become mandatory for agricultural producers seeking financial support from the National Fund for Rural Agriculture and Environment Development (FNDAMR) under the 2026–2030 Strategic Agricultural Policy Program. The system aims to reduce administrative burdens by allowing data to be reused across institutions, preventing the need for farmers to repeatedly submit the same documents.

Authorities state that the digitalization will enable automatic eligibility verification, faster application processing, and a reduction in errors. Registration is conducted online through the official portal using the MPass government service, though assistance is available at territorial directorates of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA). Approximately 20,000 profiles have already been pre-populated in the system.
