Moldova launches new gas procurement auctions and prepares regulated price rules
State-owned Energocom has opened new rounds of gas auctions to secure natural gas supplies for the 2026‑27 winter season. The company seeks up to 225,000 MWh for the first quarter of 2027 and monthly volumes ranging from 84,000 to 155,000 MWh, using forward contracts whose price is linked to the TTF Front Month index. The procurement process is ongoing and further auctions will be announced based on demand and market conditions.
The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) is drafting new rules for setting regulated gas prices. At the same time, the farmers’ association Force of Farmers has asked authorities to re‑introduce emergency licensing for grain and oilseed imports, warning that a sharp drop in Ukrainian grain prices could depress local farm incomes and that Romania might restrict Moldovan agricultural exports if import controls are not tightened.
